Computer System Redundancy, Security, and Data Protection Practices
This document briefly describes the redundancy and security design of CRM's computer infrastructure - including all systems deployed to support their eRecords and eBackup online products. It also reviews the daily procedures CRM follows to backup and protect all data.

Last Updated: April 23, 2008

All CRM production servers are HP Proliant DL360 G4 and G5 servers with:

  • Redundant Hard Drives (RAID1)
  • Redundant Power Supplies
  • Redundant SAN connectivity
  • Battery backed read/write cache
  • All production data is written to the SAN
  • All equipment is properly mounted and secured in computer rack cabinets
  • All servers are under full maintenance and support contracts

EqualLogic PS-Series SAN:

  • Redundant Hard Drives w/ Hot Spare
  • Redundant Controller Cards
  • Redundant Power Supplies
  • Redundant SAN Switches
  • Under full maintenance and support contract

Physical Protection

  • Dedicated Room A/C
  • Redundant UPS Systems
  • 125-KVA Natural Gas Backup Power Generator
  • Keycard security access into computer room
  • Entire premises under video surveillance

All data is backed up nightly to DLT tape.

Critical data is replicated offsite.

CRM uses their SAN's snapshot features for Open File protection as well as rapid recovery.

All computers employ virus protection.

All equipment is under warranty and/or service contracts.

Firewalled Protection

  • Internet-faced servers reside on an isolated "DMZ" network
  • IP Address and TCP/UDP Port-specific rule sets in place for all DMZ-to-LAN rule exceptions
  • All firewall logs automatically emailed to System Administrators for review
  • CRM's firewall is Enterprise-class and utilizes high-end "deep packet inspection" technology
  • Redundant firewall configuration deployed to protect against hardware failure.

Internet Traffic Security/Protection

  • eRecords network sessions are encrypted via Verisign 128-bit key
  • eBackup network traffic is encrypted via Verisign 128-bit key. eBackup data is encrypted via customer-assigned pass phrase, and remains encrypted when stored on CRM's SAN.

CRM is a company who has been in operation for almost 20-years.

CRM's Main Office completed construction in September of 2005. It is a brand-new building custom designed from the bottom-up to store data of all types. It has multiple fire supression systems as well as specialized storage facilities for housing computer media.
